I was looking to go to Germany this summer, and I have saved as much as I can. It seems, however, it is not enough for an airplane ticket and have fun there, too. Try not to take a direct flight from New York to Hamburg, as it could be very costly. Check with Continental Airlines for a flight to CGN (Cologne). This is a new service and rates are well below other airlines. CGN to Kiel is about 5-6 hrs by train.
Needless to say also check with consolidators i.e. Expedia, Kayak etc. |
