Authentic pieces of the Berlin wall have been sold up until 2002, or 2003, for that sake, at Berlin souvenir shops, but even then there were fakes around. I mean, it's just a piece of concrete. There are specialists who could find out (by radio isotope analysis and more scientific wizardry) WHEN and WHERE the concrete was produced and tell you whether your piece of the Berlin Wall is genuine or not; but you'll have paid 5 Euros for the piece of concrete and will pay 5,000 for the analysis. I don't think it's worth it. Rather go to Berlin and visit the sites where the Wall was. "Checkpoint Charlie" still exists; it's a museum now. And think of all the people who have been killed trying to cross the border. |

I have been to Berlin multiple times and am pretty sure there is no place that sells authentic pieces of the Berlin wall. I heard that if you add all the pieces that people supposedly own, the wall would´ve been over 3 times as large haha So unless you find some private seller (be really careful not to spent money on a fake!!) you wont be able to find any in Berlin... |

I have seen it for sale in Berlin however, I dont know if they would be authentic. Its true, how would you know? I have seen tiny pieces of the wall at the gallery that you could actually just take from off the sidewalk (there is a long section of it just south of Alexanderplatz). The wall is falling apart in the rainy wet winter, so you might get lucky and get one on your own. |

any souvenir shop in downtown berlin sells them.. they come in little pieces attached to post cards, or just chunks... and actually in certain parts the wall is till up, but there's no old graffiti on it so if you take down a chunk, it'll just look like a rock.. |
