Where is this place in Germany? |
Unfortunately I can't find a photo, but I'll describe it as much as possible:
It has the look somewhat of a town square. There's a line of old buildings attached to each other, each building a different color. Across the street there are park benches facing the buildings. To the left (left if your facing the buildings) is a little overpass or bridge, and to the left of the bridge is a grassy park-like area.
I understand my description is extremely vague, but I'm hoping someone out there will recognize something familiar about it and perhaps let me know what they think it could be.
Thank you ;) Additional Details Thank you for all of the suggestions- please keep them coming. I realize that the description could relate to many places, but all suggestions are welcome. Thank you :) |

The fact that each building is a different color is unusual. I recently saw this in Alsace-Lorraine (which is now in France, but there are some German border towns that are similar). The area of Germany would be west of Heidelberg, along the French border. |

oh, that could seriously be any city or village in Germany, or France or Italy or Austria or Switzerland for that matter. I'll give it a shot, though - Look up Bad Tölz. It also sounds like Salzburg, but that's in Austria....but again.....your description could be a 1000 different villages or towns..... |

Like all others would I also suggest something in southern Germany or east Germany.
Your drawings are pretty good, but maybe you could give us an idea from were you have this image, a movie, a visit, a family picture at home.
We would need to know when this image was taken or seen to determine if this place can still be as you describe it right now.
Just out of curiosity, why are you looking for this place?
All this information might help us to help you find it.

You give yourself very hard time describing this area, but it is very hard to answer that question. If you know something famous from this place, like a church, or castle, river near that place this help so much. |

Could be any smaller town in Germany. Your information is too vague. All towns have a town square like this and many with buildings lined up next to each other. But very old towns usually are lined with older buildings. These are more modern, so it cant be a medieval town. Sorry, I cant be of more help. |

The first link looks very much like Saltzburg, and I know there's an area outside of the main town, across the river that has a grassy area and walking path through it, but I don't think there are buildings like that. Do you know anything about walls (medieval or ornate), certain businesses, or even how/why you came across this in the first place? It might help narrow the search. |

The First photo looks like the Old Town in Mainz but the way you describe it it could also be Heidelberg, Germany at the castle. |

A lot of places in Germany look like that. It reminds me of Bad Aibling, Rosenhiem, Munich, Au. All the places I visited in Germany. |

No streetnames or store names? the others are right, it could be anywhere in germany, especially cuz they have grass everywhere between buildings, from your pictures it looks like Nuernberg, or maybe cuz i grew up there. Why you looking for this particular spot? |
