I went to Germany last summer and can say it was by far the best vacation I have ever taken. I have been to Mexico several times and it is nice but there is definitely not a choice in my opinion of travel destinations. The transportation system is awesome in Europe. We visited Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein all by train during our stay. The only down side is the drop of the US dollar against the Euro. It was quite expensive in August and with the dollar at an all time low, be prepared! It is expensive, but well worth it. You can't put a price tag on a good time!

Hi! I live in the U.S. right now as a German Au pair and many people ask me this question (not necessarily with Mexico, though ;-)). I have to say, IÂ´m really proud of the things we have to offer. Berlin is the greatest city for me, it has so much of history left to see, some of the best museums in the world on the "Museumsinsel" and became one of the most modern cities of Europe during the last years. Therefore, thereÂ´s something for everyone, you can visit the museums, enjoy the famous sights, can meet a lot of people from all over the world, go shopping in the greatest stores and party at night, whatever you want is possible. Other cities like Hamburg, Cologne, Munich offer a lot, too. If you want vacation and beach, go to Mecklenburg (my home state), it has a gorgeous landscape, long sandy beaches and a nice warm sommer, perfect for recreation. If you want mountains and forests, go to the southern part. We got it all ;-) But the dollar thing is really annoying right now, thatÂ´s definitely a minus. Hope I could help.

IÂ´ve been to Cozumel and Cancun twice, and thereÂ´s nothing like Germany for beauty. I live here, and havenÂ´t traveled to anywhere prettier.

Of course, I live in Bavaria, and whatÂ´s not to love???

I dont know what these people who say mexico is overated are talking about. Both germany and Mexico have such a rich culture and history that both would be a great place, If you go to mexico stay away from those stupid College party places and make sure u visit the real mexico.

mexico is over-rated. at least germany, many ppl havent been, and there is tons of history there that the world knows about.

I have never been to mexico. but i have been living in Germany for the past year. There is a lot of history here. not to mention that there is so much in a small area. Roman Ruins in Trier, castles in Heidelburg, Idar-Oberstein, Neuschwanstein. Italy, France, Luxemburg, Belgium, Netherlands border the eastern and southern part of Germany which open up even more places to visit. Rome, Paris, Alot of Cemeteries from WWII which are amazing things to see. Alot of Skiing and Snowboarding places, Garmisch, Germany: Laangraf, Netherlands there are endless things to do in Germany

Both interesting places, I don't know what to say. Germany is nice, because I live there so many years, but I never in Mexico. Just make your decision. Good luck with that.

I would go to Mexico. if you like the tourist type of vacation. If you want more culture i would go to Germany.

Due to the dollar to euro exchange rate I would go to Mexico because your dollar doesnt go far in Europe at the moment
