There's a street called "Kurfursdamm" which is really a district, sort of. It has plenty of shopping, etc.

try the alexander platz, or livingly just called alex by berliners.
the kurfuerstendamm is a must.

there is also the haeckische hoefe. check those out for cool littel cafes nearby and small boutique style shops.

but check out all these, i am sure you'll get plenty out of these links!

There are so many nice spots to go to. Like everyone has already suggested Ku' Damm for Shopping, if that is still to chaotic for you try Wilmersdorfer Strasse.... I like that better everything you need in one long street. There are some nice spots to sit at, there is this one place (cant remember the name) it's on the corner of Libauer Strasse...It has a nice setting. It looks kinda spanish.... Or you can always go club-hopping(" ,)

A new store that has opened in Berlin is very nice. It is called Das Schloss. That is my favorite place to get evreyday living items. For you to buy something expensive or nice try Kaufhaus des Westens.... KaDeWe. Very big und high qualita for everything. If you have got € 500 you will come away with a good memories. So schön ist es. Viel Spass.

Definitely try and get to East Berlin, where the investment in rejuvenating it since the wall came down has made a huge difference. Wet Berlin by comparison now looks so tired and uncared for.

I like shops near Oranienburger-Rosenthaler
See Hackescher Market and Hackescher Hofe, many shops in some beautiful courtyard (one of them is the Ampelmann shop, all about the man on the old traffic lights of East Berlin)
