Where would I buy a German plug adapter by tomorrow?

I'm leaving for Germany on Sunday and just thought about how I'm suppose to plug in my American appliances. Does anyone know where they sell those adapters for foriegn travel?

I am an American living in Germany. You will only need the adapter plug if your appliance is dual voltage. Look at your appliances to see if they are rated 110 - 240. If they are you should have no problems as long as you have the plug. If your appliance is NOT dual voltage, then you will need that transformer! I would try WalMart and Target for those items.

I hope you enjoy your visit to Germany! it is an awesome country and the weather is just now starting to get nice.

PS: Don't bother w/ a clock... as stated before it WILL NOT keep time!

Radio Shack should have them, or any travel or luggage store should also carry them.

You'll need not only a plug adapter but a voltage converter; we use 110, they use 240, and you'll fry your appliances without a converter (unless they're dual voltage).

You could get them there, but they'll be much more expensive, especially the converter.

You can get them in many places all over the USA.

Yes conversion is the answer, from AC 110 to DC 240!

Staples, Radio Shack, Circuit City, Walmart, Kmart. Most of these places all carry converters.

An important thing to know..there are TWO converters you will need unless you can find an all in one. The two at Radio Shack one is for things like your laptop and battery recharge and the other good for electric razors and smaller items. The directions come with them all. I know they have all in ones now.

Also make sure you bring the extensions for the plugs are they will fall short of plugging in!! Anything you miss in the USA you can also buy in Germany at electronic stores.

So I am sure you can go to any one of those stores and find one.

The previous respondent was right about needing to have a convertor (and not just a plug adaptor) to avoid damaging your American appliance. Also, don't bother bringing a plug in clock. It will not run properly even with a convertor. In addition to Radio Shack, I have also seen convertor sets (with the adaptors for Europe, UK, Australia) in Target stores (luggage dept).Try to pack light, heavy luggage in Europe is a bear because in many places, there are no porters available. If you are going with someone, maybe one of you can bring one appliance (e.g. a blowdryer) which you can share. Hab eine gute Fahrte! (German for have a nice vacation).

I got mine from Radio Shack for about $9 or maybe Walmart may have some.

I've seen them at Walmart and don't try to buy them in Germany as they mostly have the ones Germans need around the world not the other way. And don't forget about 220 Volt but everybody told you this already.

either buy on the internet at ebay etc or buy one when you`re there, that`s the easiest solution.
