here is what is in each city
berlin: its the capital SOO MUCH HISTORY you can see where the berlin wall once stood; beautiful architecture; gorgeous churches; lovely parks to stroll through; alexander platz tower that you can go up and see the whole city; the train station is a lovely piece of architecture as well..they have this one tower with an angel on top that is surrounded by trees..when you climb up there you can see the brandenburg tor (once part of the berlin wall) ITS THE BEST VIEW EVER!!! some shopping places here and there and good ice cream :D
munich: the city square is PHENOMENAL!!! architecture wise and modernized...the architecture is gothic i believe and the city hall is my favorite in all of germany...there are many shops to go in (very modern) great ice cream :D you can climb towers as well and see the whole city
but there is much more to see in berlin...munich's town center is the best and that would last you like a day or two...berlin has more to offer...more museums...more churches to explore...more government historic buildings...markets where you can buy almost anything...so i would recomment berlin over munich...thats just my opinion...i spent only a day in munich and 3 in berlin hahaha... hope this helps :D |

Munich is more interesting for 'beer-loving' tourists so you should go to Berlin as there's so much to see and to do:

Honestly Munich is my favorite place to go, well actually Garmisch-Partickerchin, but it's close to each other. It beautiful up there. However there is this awsome place up by Berlin called the Tropical Island. It's like a beach dome. Has a jungle, rain forest and is always like 75 degrees! Picture Biodome-PollyShure movie- but instead a beach it rocks pretty cheap to- just google indoor beach and it will come up! |

Depends on what you want to see. Berlin is the capital so there are lots of government buildings, museums, and of course you can go where the wall was. Munich is a beautiful city as well. You can take many day trips from Munich (Dachau, possibly the Alps) Also, Oktoberfest is in Munich
But if I were going I would go to Berlin b/c I'v been to Munich a bunch of times. |
