Do not miss Bavaria at Christmas. Fly into Munich and have a drive around. Austria is close too.
Oh, Schloss Neuschwanstein!

If you like a small town-then Heidelberg.
If you like a big city-then Berlin. |

Nuernberg is awesome for shopping, the weinachts mart is unreal! It is so festive and everyone is very nice. Wear warm clothes and drink lots of Gluhwein (pronounced glue vine) to keep warm.
However if you are a skier or gambler, the best place to go is Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
If you are into seeing castles, then you should visit Neuschwanstein. (there are two Castles in that area. Both of which Koenig Ludwig resided.
I loved living in Germany..If I had to pick ..I would say Nuernberg is your best choice. You can get from one end of Germany to the other in about 8 hours, their transportation system is unequaled and the fares are very good. |

You should visit Cologne (Koln), Germany during Christmas. The entire city turns into a big Christmas Nativity scene with decorations and celebrations.
There are many other German places also good for visiting, see this link: http://www.germany-christmas-market.org.uk/index1.htm |
