Who has been to Germany that wasn't enlisted in the service and what city or cities did you like best and why?

Someone question why I didn't want answers from Service personnel?
I don't have anything against Service people.
I just wanted to get answers from people who really wanted to travel to Germany and weren't required to be in Germany. And I know some Service personnel do get to choose where to go.

What do you have against service members? Many of us have done a lot of traveling. I was stationed in Germany for 4 years.

I've been to Germany multiple times and my favorite city was Nurnberg because of the culture, the laid back feel, the buildings and history, the shopping and food. The people there are much friendlier than in Northern Germany (as far as I can remember) and the city isn't so big that you are overwhelmed.

I also liked Munich because of the Olympic Park and the TV tower that gives you a view of almost the whole city.

I have been to other cities, but the two cities listed above were by far my favorites.

I've been to Germany. The best place I love in Germany is Leipzig coz I met my friend there. She is the nicest person you can ever meet. I've so many good memories in Leipzig that I will never forget. May be Leipzig won't be as amusing to you, but if I go to Germany again I will definitly go to Leipzig.

My husband is in the service, I hope you are not mad because I'm answering your question. We are going back and fort between US and Germany. It's a nice place and great for traveling round the Europe.
The great cities are: Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Dresden, Lepzig, Frankfurt/M.

I traveled between Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Munich. With the exception of Munich, it was only "ok." Because of WWII the cities don't seem to have that much personality, except for Frankfurt. And the people are definitely not as warm as say Italians, and there's not a whole lot of natural wonders like mountains,etc..

I was born in Germany 1976 and lived there until 2005!!! My City was Hanau!!! But Frankfurt, Wuerzburg, Heidelberg, Hamburg are my favorite Cities there, because there's lots to see, good shopping, etc....
