Will the letter reach someone in Germany if I know only full name, house phone number and a city (Wuppertal)?

I tried to look for the address online (knowing house phone), but it must be hidden.
Please help me, I am sooooo desperate.
Additional Details
I tried on all those websites, but it seems that that number was restricted from being published online....

Probably not but I'm from Wuppertal (this is so cool) maybe I can help you. Maybe I even know the person. Well, Wuppertal is not that little, but it's possible!

To send something by mail you need the full address. If you have the phonenumber and full name and city you might be able to look it up, but only if the person is registered in the public phonebook.
Let me know if you need help

Probably not. Why don't you call the phone number, if you have it?

It will not reach the person. You'll need the city and the postal code of the street and the name of the street and the housenumber, or it will get lost along the way. For some adresses you need only name, postal code and city, but these are mainly big companies and other institutions which have their own postal code.

So call them and ask for the correct mailing adress.

If you have the phone number, why don't you call ???
Area code for Germany is 011 49 and then the number without the zero up front.

I've actually sent mail with just the person's name and the city before and it got there in like a week. Try sending a postcard first, and ask the person to respond with the full address.

Try it, it will only cost a stamp. The German mail is very efficient.

It won't reach them, sorry. But have you tried going to www.telefonbuch.de and doing a search just by name and city? Some people list their address as well as their phone number. Or is that where you already looked online?

No, it will not.
Go to www.klicktel.de and try again. I can help you if you need help.

passat_hobby
Did you try reverse search? Go to klicktel or to www.das oertliche.de and try reverse search. Good luck!

I think theres a pretty good chance that the person will get the letter. To be safe why dont you look up the exact address under: www.teleauskunft.de. Thats the german online phonebook and it will normally also give you the complete address

Ok let me answer that... as a German from Germany...

It will reach it, when you write the follwoing:

Name: xxx xxx
Phone: xxx xxxx
City: Wuppertal
Country: Germany

DO NOT WRITE YOUR ADRESS ON THE LETTER!
In that case they would simply send it back. When they only have the above mentioned facts... they gonna call the phone numeber themself or try their best to deliver the postage. They are pretty good in that actually.

In case you haven't tried this website to look up that phone numer Try it.http://www3.dasoertliche.de/?la=en&page=0&context=0&action=
It is from the German Telekom and has all registrated numbers in it... Usually the Area code and the Number is enought to find out the whole address including name, street and number, postal code and City of course.

Good Luck!
