Well, I don't know what Canadian schools are like, but Gymnasium is much harder than High School in the US. 11th and 12th grade is college level! And I don't know how you would be able to attend if you don't know german?! I read the answers to your other questions and you already got that pointed out!!!
An exchange year really is a great thing but I don't see how it can be done without knowing the language! You might have a chance at an english school but I'm not from the Frankfurt area so I can't help you on that one.
Anyway - good luck to you! Don't give up, if you really want to go there you'll find a way. And if not now then maybe later for university...

I would recommend you to go to the Goethe Gymnasium, they teach in Englisch and German, so, you won´t lose a lot of time:

Another possibility is , that you ask in your embassy, about the internationa school, where the children of the different diplomatic personnel go, they teach in Englisch, but with a lot of German classes.

Speaking German language fluently is essential if you plan on going to a German school. Otherwise, it will be impossible for you to understand a word of what the teacher says. Or what your classmates say, for the matter.

There's a limited number of international schools in Germany, where classes are taught in English, though.

Some examples:

It will be impossible for you to attend a regular German "Gymnasium" in 11th grade without knowing any German. - However, there are international schools in Frankfurt that offer "Abitur" and international degrees. You can get in touch with them and ask about qualifications. As far as I know, the "Goethe Gymnasium" is State funded.- Have fun and enjoy yourself in Frankfurt.
