A good holiday place which is equidistant from both Chennai & Bangalore?

A holiday spot which is just right for 2-3 days .Also not much travel time from Blore or Chennai

I suggest Yercaud is the best, a small, quiet, not so crowded hill station 25 Kms from Salem.

It takes 6 hours from both Bangalore and Chennai to reach Yercaud.

Try it, you'll enjoy it.

Go to Tirupati it's the best spiritual place.

Ooty will be good choice. It is farther from Chennai than from bangalore. but u have easy transportation facility.

From Chennai: Nigiri Express(chennai-mettupalayam):Leaves Chennai at around 9.00pm. Reaches mettupalayam at 6.00 in the morning.Then u can go by Nilgiri Mountain Railway from there.
If u wish to go by road on hills, then u can hire a car from Coimbatore which is 80 kms from Ooty.U also have frequent buses to ooty from Coimbatore and Mettupalayam.

From Bangalore:There are direct buses from bangalore to ooty(volvo buses) regularly.

After visiting ooty,u can spend a day at 'Black Thunder'(Water theme park) which is on the way from ooty to mettupalayam-coimbatore. Then from coimbatore,there are buses and trains to both bangalore and chennai.

There are also 3 or 4 natinal wildlife sancturies around coimbatore.(Mudumalai wildlife on Nilgiri mountains,Indiragandhi wildlife at topslip,valparai,coimbatore).

1. Kodaikanal( 245 kms from Bangalore and Chennai)
2. Yercaud (30km from Salem)

Kodaikanal is higher, cooler , greener, more beautiful, and has more places of interest than Yercaud. It really is the Queen of Nilgiris. And Kurrinji flowers are in bloom this year (it blooms once every 12 years).So you must visit Kodaikanal, as this is a special year!

i think yercaud is the place, or goa...depends how far u go - europe can be considered equidistant from bangalore and chennai. avoid ooty - there's nothing to see in that overcrowded hill station. and black thunder is dead now..and the water aint that good. better to go to wonder-la or veega land!
