A group of Muslim extremists came by boat to Mumbai on Wednesday night. Many of them had actually already been living in Mumbai for a few months, getting ready for this attack. It was very well planned. They attacked a few places that were frequented by tourists, including the Taj Residency Hotel, a hospital, and other places.
The fact that they are targeting foreigners (Americans and Europeans) is being thrown out there and it may be true, it may not. If they are, it is likely that the only reason is to get publicity on the event and create fear among foreign residents in India.
So far the real motives have not been found out. At least two of the terrorists have been captured alive so information may soon be coming from them. Religion and politics could both be involved. There is not really a lot of information about the cause of it, only what is happening.
Last time I checked they were smoking the terrorists out of the Taj Hotel. Most of the hostages have been recovered. About 125 or so people are dead, 14 of those police men, 6 foreigners. An even larger number are injured.

you are so right! it is so crazy these days that it is virtually impossible to tell the motive behind pretty much anything that goes on in this crazy world! All i can do is sit back and try to make the best of the ride because it is not in my hands..

This is not about the elections or any religion. Terror knows no religion. It was just a bunch of barbarians who were taken care by the army.

These attackers were Pakistanis and Bangladeshis. ISI/Lashkar brainwashed poor kids thoroughly motivated and made rutheless. This is to portray India as an unsafe country while gaining political mileage from Islamic countries as Jihadis, as some of those killed were Jews of Israel who were having a congregation at Nariman House.

It is time for the world to wake up and act united to put an end to this transnational terrorism.
