I don't like your question at all. I would have liked your question if it were like this:
"What are all not there in chennai to attract tourists?".
There are so many Tourists Spots. It's one of the most densely populated cities in India and capital city of the state Tamil Nadu. So, it has a lot of Tourist Attractions. There are so many Ancient Hindu Temples, which can't be forgotten in life. You also have amusement parks, but they're all in the outskirts of the city. Not very far from the city though.
Then you've:
Marina Beach: Stretching over 13 kilometers this popular beach is the second longest beach in Asia.

Fort St George: Built by the British East India Company in 1653 this fort houses St Mary's Church, the first British Church in Chennai and has a museum with a collection of British and French historical artifacts. It is currently used as the State Secretariat or seat of local government.

St Thomas Mount: One of Christ's disciples, St Thomas is believed to have visited India between 52 and 72 AD. He is believed to have died in the area called St Thomas Mount. The Portuguese built the Luz and Descanco churches. There are several churches and a museum to be seen on St Thomas Mount.

Theosophical Society: The serene setting of this institution in Adyar, spread out over 100 green acres, makes it a popular spot for visitors. It is also famous for the large Banyan tree in its grounds. This banyan is over 200 years old and its branches and aerial roots spread out over a large circumference.

Kalakshetra: Smt Rukmini Devi Arundale founded this cultural institution of international repute in 1936 as a cultural academy for the preservation of traditional values in Indian art, especially in the field of dance and music. Performances of the classical arts can be seen here throughout the year.

Guindy National Park and Snake Park: A unique institution, this centre is renowned for the study and preservation of snakes and other reptiles.

Parthasarthi Temple: Built in the 8th century B.C. by the Pallava Dynasty and dedicated to Lord Krishna, this temple was renovated in the 16th century by the Vijayanagara dynasty and continues to be in active use today.

Eliot Beach: A pleasant seaside attraction, this beach is a popular getaway.

Covelong Beach:
This picturesque beach also has a fort, church and mosque that are worth seeing.

Crocodile Bank: Located 44 km away from the city, this institution is dedicated to the conservation of Indian crocodiles and is home to a number of rare species of crocodiles, alligators, gharials and other reptiles.

Kapaleshwara Temple: This temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is the oldest temple in Chennai. Built in the 13th century, it exemplifies the architectural skills of the Dravidian sculptors and craftsmen.

Valluvar Kottam: The majestic memorial named after Thiruvalluvar, the great philosopher and Saint and author of the philosophical treatise the Thirukkural, it functions as an auditorium. The stone car outside is a great attraction.

So many ancient structures are there which are very interesting when visited. If your planning to visit Chennai, please do stay at my home also. It's about 4 - 6 kms from the Airport only! Please. Chennai is a very cool place, you don't want to miss!!!!!!!

First of all the best time to visit chennai is Dec - Feb when the
weather is really cool and pleasant.

As others have given a huge list of places I would like to cover
new ones.

The music festival which comprises of traditional dances like
bharatanatyam and classical instrumental music takes place
in December at all major venues in chennai. Even NRI's come
specifically to take part and see the shows.

There is another festival called chennai sangamam which
takes place during Pongal holidays showcasing the rural
and traditional folks shows and arts in public parks ending
with a spectacular finale in besant nagar beach in chennai.

There is something for everyone from glitzy malls to traditional shops and restaurants.
There are centuries old temples, british forts and museums
zoos, crocodile bank( yeah you got it right), amusement parks

come to chennai you will never want to leave :-)

Chennai is not a big tourism spot like other states.Chennai is full of houses & buildings,here you can't enjoy the nature also.By the by go to some foreign countries for this summer vacation

Chennai is a hot place. High end shopping places are less, cant find many upscale malls and eateries. Moreover it has strict rules against partying and i have heared its a dry state. For the spiritually inclined and research nerds this location would suite. However partygoers and guzzlers stay away from Chennai. It would be good if we you get DVD's of the these places of attraction and watch them from your couch in an AC room emptying your favourite drinks and muching on lays.

chennai is not a big tourist spot. lots of high tech companies are there, but from what i've been told by people who have been there, it isn't that pretty.
