roughly if you roming out for about 40 days of the 60 days , and take about 50 pics daily you would need about 4 GB card , or two 2 GB cards , with roughly 5 MP cameras .

I usually carry much more than i need , if you have iPOD then it would be great to carry a photo transfer port which docs to iPOD and then transfer the pics to iPOD when ever u want ,

offcourse it will be best to transfer all these photos to net when ever you can , you will find cybercafe in all places in india , some small places u migh find it a little difficult , but u will still find one

remember, everyone's different so it depends!
but if u r like professional, snappin many shots of da same thing, go for at least a gig

Dont take pictures of more than 5 mp unless you want to make a poster out of one and 1 gig should be enough.

If you do happen to run out, their are places over there that sell them too.

Hi,
You really don't need to take all that much. 1 gig should be more than enough. I suppose you are using memory card for stills and a DVD tape for movies. Is this correct? Of course it depends on resolution for a 5 migapixal picture you could actually get by with a 512 meg card.

I take pictures for the web so I don't need allot of resolution. I use a 3.2 mega pixel still and do not take stills with my DVD camcorder. I take a zillion picture and delete what I don't like every night at the Hotel.

But. the real answer to your question, resolves around the fact that in virtually every town where there are tourists you can have a CD burnt (about 90 RP or $1.90) and erase your memory card. As a result I only use a 256 meg card. Go to any internet provider. You can also buy DVD tape cheaper in India than America.Be sure ro bring some because it can only be bought in major cities (Delhi, Mumbi, etc).

Be sure, if coming from America you take with you a 240v to 120v converter and a plug adapter or you will not be able to recharge you camera's battery.
I spend 3 months in India every year and if you have any questions feel free to post them here!

It depends on where in India you are going, some tourist places don't allow pictures. It also depends on how many pictures you like to take. I suggest you take a larger memory, better safe than sorry.

If you want to take good resolution pictures on a 2 month trip to India, I doubt if you can manage just with memory cards alone. I do not think 1 gig is sufficient. You have to find a way of tranferring the pics from the memory card to a PC from time to time. If you are carrying your own laptop, it is fine, but if you are not then, you have to get them transferred to a CD locally. But please note, it is not possible to do that at any and every place in India. So plan to do it at every major town or city.

I went on a South India tour for 10 days and I ran out of my 512 MB space by the 7th day. Yes I took several pictures on the hills.

By the way, a voltage converter (220V to 110V) can also be bought in India, for as low as US$ 3

Well, 'cos india is such a nice place HEAPS! However you sould only need up to a 512 Mb card as the bonus with a digital camera is that you can go to the hotel (or wherever), rest and deleate photo's that you think were shot awefully.

I remember the time we went to Europe for 1 month, and came back with 12 rolls of film!
