Are Indians Caucasian or Asian?

Race-wise, are Indians(from India) considered Caucasian, Asian(Mongoloid) or Black(Nigroid)?

Color-wise, some Indians(from Southern India) have very dark skin while Northern Indians look more like middle-eastern.

Do Indians consider themselves Caucasian, Asian or Black?

Indians usually dont fall under any of the 4 proposed races, Neither are we Caucasians, Mongoloid, Ne-groid or Austroloid..

Although in India, some people from the North may look like Caucasians and some from the extreme South may look like Blacks and also many from the East are Mongoloid..

So its confusing, but in the end we are just Indians..

Morever, the term race is not used anymore actually, but now we distinguish people on ethnicity!

P.S - there are originally only 4 or 5 races in the world. 5 if you consider Capoid too, but Dravidian and Aryans all fall under Caucasoid and these are the categories..

1) Mongoloid (Asian and American Indian)
2) Caucasoid (European)
3) Australoid (Australian and oceanic)
4) Ne-groid (east African black)
5) Capoid (south African black)

According to population geneticist L.L. Cavalli-Sforza of Stanford, based on work done in the 1980s, Indians are genetically Caucasian, but Lewontin rejects the label Caucasian. Cavalli-Sforza found that Indians are about three times closer to West Europeans than to East Asians.[11] Dr. Eduardas Valaitis, in 2006, found that India is genetically closest to East and Southeast Asians with about 15% more genetic similarity than to Europeans; he also found that India could be considered very distinct from other regions.[12] Genetic anthropologist Stanley Marion Garn considered in the 1960s that the entirety of the Indian Subcontinent to be a "race" genetically distinct from other populations.[11][13] Others, such as Lynn B. Jorde and Stephen P. Wooding, claim South Indians are genetic intermediaries between Europeans and East Asians.[14][15][16]

They would technically be Asian due to the geographical location of India in the world.

However, since the Indian population is so large (over a billion), they are usually called a separate sub-section.

this shouldn't even be a question
regardless of where you are from in India, geographically speaking any part of India is still considered Asian
Pakistani's are still Asian and they are to the west of India, so yeah Indians are Asian.
