Yes I am a true Indian. I am not directly from India, due to the reason that I was born in the USA, but directly after I was born I went to India and now ever since I have continuously been visiting India. Of course Indians want to be your friend, but you will have to find them another way perhaps. I am an Indian American. My husband is from India, we visited Mumbai last year. It was a blast. We're planning on taking three months off and seeing a lot of different places in India. You should plan a vacation there for at least a month. You'll make a lot of friends.
