There is no absolute yes or no for this question. You must decide what is important for you, given the facts about India and your aim in life. Being from Britain, there is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that you will have some difficult times settling in India. What is the issue here, however, is whether your goal is worth that hassle.
The thing about India is, from my personal experience,
(a) There are absolutely no laws, everyone does what they can possibly do. This goes from people urinating on the road to no public official doing their duty.
(b) The corruption is terrible. You cannot even register a complaint in a police station without greasing their palms.
(c) The pollution is horrible. I had to move out of India sooner than I wanted to because of a constant itch at the back of my throat, which was diagnosed as a reaction to pollution.
(d) There is always the threat of terrorism, or, strikes called by the f**king commies, or "stop work". Imagine if a general strike happened when you were on your way to the hospital.
However, flip side is:
(a) People are genuinely nice, especially when compared to western cultures.
(b) It used to be a expanding economy, now is a little stalled however.
(c) You can experience the spiritual charm and peace that is to be found here.
You decide. |

I totally agree with Hermes. there cannot be a simple Yes or No answer to this question,
If you've never been to india i suggest go there for a vacation for 2-3 weeks , see how it goes, and then decide whether you would like to stay there more. |
