Religion isn't really an issue in India. You do not have to be a Hindu to live here. But I think a foreigner needs to get permission to stay on longer than their Visa permits.

You can. You'll have to renew your visa every 3 or 6 months which isn't too hard to accomplish. You can even get a driver's licence if you wish to travel on your own.
But remember, the govt. doesn't allow foreigners to own land. So don't end up buying any land or house, cos however much you've paid, you still don't own it. Lots of foreigners, mainly in Goa have been scammed this way.

namaste bhai.... may be... if u r not married... come to india find a girl n marry her n then apply for indiancitizenship. the coolest thing is u need not cancell ur citizenship in romania.. u can enjoy both citizenship as well as....

You can obviously . We Indians respect our guests like Gods. Do not worry about the political issues which is destroying our country . But one more thing that is the Weather condition here. Its very Critical to undersatnd since we ourself sometimes fail to understand what kind of weather will it be after an hour. So if u adjust with the weather conditions then this is the best and the safest country to live with your family. Come Down and have fun.Wish you best of luck for the rest of your life.

If you are a non-Indian Hindu, then you must have been converted to Hinduism.
In that case you will get full support from the religious mission that you are attached with.

They will be more than glad to extend you the support because you and your family will be the subject to "show off" by the religious group about the greatness of Hinduism.
