can anyone suggest a place outside chennai for a 2-3 day visit. Preferrably hill stations / waterbodies / backwaters. Suggest where privacy is there at a cost effective price.
i am unable to figure out ur req'ments, so general tips....
1. Ooty/kodaokanal are hill stns but u need more time.
2. back waters r in Kerala, not worth for ur time.
3. Rameshwaram is possible but may not suit u.
4. try b'lore & mysore.

-Vizag (Visakhapatnam) in A.P. it is very beautiful place because of all the beaches.
- Hydrabad (A.P. state.)
- Mysoore (also in A.P.)

3.government museum,
4.vivekananda museum,
5.valluvar kottam,
6.developmant centre for musical instruments,

8.sri parthasarathy temple
9.theosophical society
10.kapaleeshwarar
11.san thome cathedral
12.luz church
13.guindy national park,snake park& children's park
and then u have time try to visit Mamallapuram,kanchipuram,pondicherry,mad... are very nice place.
Trel
Yercaud or Elagiri hills are the nice place to visit in 2 days.
otherwise try Pondicherry and Mahabalipuram, it is very close to chennai.
