1. You can travel in India by (through) Airways/Airlines without a passport if you are in India.

2. If you are an Indian national, you can also travel by Air to Nepal even without a passport.

3.If you are a non-Indian National but you are in India, you can also travel by Air within India without a passport.

While it is n ot mandatory to carry passport while travelling within India, if you are a tourist to India, it is always advisable to carry the passport. However, if you are an Indian resident, you should have a photo I.D. with you while travelling in India as the airline may ask for your identity proof.

you need a passport only when you are landing in a diff country - if ur passing over a diff country but land in the same country, you dont need a passport. and i presume when you say 'travel through air' you mean 'flying'

u dont need a passport to fly in India if u r an Indian citizen and also Nepal because India has open borders with Nepal

u only need it when u travel to other countries

but for the domestic passport not required, for domestic travelling by air only a valid photo id card required

Yes ,there is no any problem to travel within INDIA without passport. U can travel through air without passport in INDIA. If u want to go out of INDIA then U must have passport.

theres no need of a passport if ur travelling only within india like bangalore to delhi or delhi to mumbai.........no need at all ok,,,,,,,,,cause i have travelled on my own without a passport thats y...........but if u still own doubts then go to any airport and ask anywhere ok they will tell u the details

Sometimes it depends. Normally none of the domestic air flights will ask for your passport but sometimes due to the security check due to terrorism or findings of any culprits they may ask you to carry it. In my opinion, I would suggest you to call up the call centre for the concerned flight service and confirm the details.
