Can india ever really develop into a country as developed as america??if yes, how??

we are already a super power in front of america.

I know you wont beleive this, ok so here is why we are:-

1. America is still searching for Bin laden, We know where is he is and not only that, we know about all the big shot gangsters and our police and inteligence nab them time to time.
2. American's only know how to make life lesuire, we know how to work hard to make life BEST to live with. And that is why our IT and outsourceing industry has absorbed a major job share from America.
3. We have a railway system which is worlds largest railway. No one can beat us. Not only this, our railway is the cheapest.
4. We are the growing with a pace where our economy is growing bcoz of our internal industry and not bcoz of some external FII's (except share markets).
5. The major part world biggest top shot proffesionals are from India.
6. The highest number of Mechanical enng are in India.
7. We have the worlds biggest army headcount.
8. The biggest part of Nasa's enng base comes from India.

10.People from india go to america for lesuire tours, but american's come to india to understand our culture bcoz we have one of the oldest culture and heritage in the world. And we are still preserving it.
11. And the most important. WE HAVE SO MANY CAST AND OTHER DIFF, BUT STILL WE ALL ARE PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN.

Yes, If the people in India don't liter and it will definately develop if the people obey rules and regulations. But other than that I have to say probably NOT. I'm not trying to be rude or anything.

sure why not? it already is when it comes to technology but I think the infrastrcuture needs tweeking...

Also..if it does become too much like america, we r in trouble..

It is a very poor country so if it were to develope as rich as the states, it would take a long time. First of all, India has alot of poverty, like disabled begers and lepers. India would need to fix that by having more homes for lepers, and fixing the disease problem by having more money for the cures and vacination. It is however difficult to get alot of that money so they would have to earn it. India also has alot of un-educated people because they can't afford to go to school and then can't earn jobs and when they can't earn jobs, can't help the government. India would have to have those people to have money to afford for school and to learn to read and write. India also has a big population, so the bigger population, the more jobs and schools are needed. India should make laws about that. I don't realy know what else, so i hope one day india will be a wealthy country.

If they can get it together, socially speaking, they can be more advanced. After the technology bubble burst during the early part of the millennium they inherited enormous amounts of tech infrastructure from all the belly up companies trying to cut their losses. Lots of countries in the east have better com infrastructure than countries in the West. Obviously, they have a lot of work to do, so they can put it to good use. But the information highways are in place.

I am in a great pleasure to answer this question. I honestly feel India is one of the richest country in the world when Indians are get rid off their minds from selfish activities, corruption, inhuman activities, etc. India is such vast country having highest spiritual qualities still to make India is the best developed country. When there is tendency of hurting other people by physical tortures, financial tortures, corruption tortures, then the real unselfish activity begins by whatsoever means. O my mother India., can you not develop like America, This is such a easiest target for India. India will develop like three America.

India is on the correct path as far as economic development is concerned. To be as or for that matter more developed than the developed countries the focus has to be on two critical areas : Infrastructure development and education. If these two are along-with providing primary health care across the country are provided for, given the immense human capital available, there is no stopping India.
