Can someone let me have the distance between Bangalore and Pondicherry and the best /eco/safest mode of travel

Bangalore to Krishnagiri is part of NHAI (Golden Quadrilateral) project so its very smooth and boring for motorcycling. From Krishnagiri you have to turn left towards Chennai and immediate right. Then you will be welcomed by a road full for Tamarind & Mango trees. Beautiful road all the way to Pondy.

Stopovers
None other than breakfast - lunch in any of the towns. Heard that there is a awesome pancake join in TVMalai called "Auro Usha" but couldn't locate it due to lack of time. Stop for photos at Gingee (pronouced Chenji) Fort between Tiruvannamalai & Tindivanam

Tips
Not a single highway standard restaurant *** rest room (Kamat's type) but smaller joints (without restroom) in all major towns. Non-veg hotels don't serve tea/coffee in this route. Don't ask me why. Try the HP petrol pumps for clean restrooms.

What makes it nice
Peaceful and less traffic. Much better/shorter then going via Chennai.
The stretch of road inside the national park (around 25km) on Mysore-Mananthavady route is in very very bad shape. It is better to avoid thsi route. Siby

We've tried this route,but on my Indica-> (Not a taxi)-> Can go fast,not too many bumps,but will need to slow down once in a while. Pretty good,agree about the lack of stopovers/tea stalls/rest rooms,but don't remember the part from TV Malai to Pondy. Narayanaswami Balalsubramaniam

The route to Krishnagiri is amazing. Feels like US. Krisnagiri to Chengam is a bit pain. After that its lovely. Pondy is a nice place to visit, especially during the winter time, but I visited on 13th April. It was hot there. Pravesh Biyani

The distance is about 350-400 kms and the fastest mode of transport is by bus. Alternatively, you can catch a bus /train/ flight to Chennai and then travel by bus or taxi to Pody.

The distance B/W Bangalore & Pondicherry is appr 410 kms,it's best to go to chennai by train/flight,then from there u go to pondicherry.but some govt & Pvt buses are providing their direct services from bangalore to podicherry.

Bangalore to Pondicherry is about 290 Km. The route via Chennai is much more (320 km B'lore to Chennai +165 km from Chennai to Pondy)

The route is upto Krishnagiri via Hosur road, just before Krishnagiri, turn left under flyover to take the Chennai road. 1 KM down this road is a turn to the right which is the Pondicherry road.

There are many buses to pondy from B'lore. Else travel to krishnagiri and change from there.

If you drive, it will take yu about 6 hrs since the road beyond Krishnagiri is not very good.
