Rajasthan.
The desert will be cool and there are fabulous places to see.
You will get off season rates as well.
Avoid Mt. Abu its very noisy and the weekends are choc a block there as Gujarat across the border is dry and residents flock here for a tipple.
Jaipur Udaipur(though its an over night bus journey between the two) are great cities to visit. Close to Jaipur is a place called Chowkhi Dhani, an evening's outing and very enjoyable.
From Udaipur Chittorghar, is close too.
A word of advice. Don't try and pack too many places, just select two or max three. On your honeymoon you don't want to rush and travel all the time.
Best wishes to you and your partner. |

The south side of India is definately a very good place to visit but since you mentioned that you don't want such suggestions then you can go to the North side. Places like Shimla, Kullu Manali, and other hill stations but the best time to go there would be in the month of december or january. In July and August, it would be raining ever where so you might have to stay inside the hotel itself. |

I go with EmM, trust me: Rajasthan is EXCELLENT. Jaipur, Udaipur (very very romantic , esp. the lake palace) & Jodhpur (marvellous, breath-taking, esp. the Mehrangarh Fort). Enjoy urself... |

1. You can think of visiting Nepal, as peace is returning now and as an Indian, no probs in visitng Nepal. You can buy some package tour.
2. Darjeeling. You might be interested in this, if you wish a real romantic mood (!)
3. Kulu Manali. Check out for rooms and plan in advance. But the season will be just starting, so nothing different from other places. You can combine with Chandigarh.
4. You can also check Dehradun.
As the international flight rates are zooming down, think of alternates like Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, if you are interested. Srilankan and Malaysian Airlines are offering best deals. |

Lakshadweep Islands. Excellent snorkelling, peace and quiet. In August the monsoons are probably done for that part. Also depends on what you like..mountains? Sea? Cities? You could head to the mountains (Garhwals etc), but during that time, monsoons would be active in North India. |
