I don't know if it is "the safest". However, it definitely is "among the safest metros" for women. |

Chennai is safe for anyone.
Tamils had problems in Karnataka.
Kannadikas had no problem at any time at Chennai.
Marwarris & Gujaratis exploit the Tamils and control major businesses at Chennai and elsewhere in Tamilnadu
They face no problem.
Women have no problem. Large number of girls work in IT companies and private firms.
Politicians (Tamilnadu) are corrupt.
But Indian politicians are generally corrupt

Ya Bangalore is a metropolitan city!
cant decide that any place is safe or not for women, every place has its own advantage n disadvantage.
I think B'lore has more edge over it cause day by day many people around the country are interested to stay in B'lore, and people who come as visitors find there permanent place here. Which says that B'lore is more safer place when compared to others!! |

i don't wanna get into controversies!
first idid like to solve the misconception of metro city status.
india has only 4 officially declared metro cites at present.
b'lore is a officially declared mega city with hyderabad along with the other 4 metro cities.
now, on to the survey question.
basically the media collect these observation on two modes -1.public opinion
2.previous records
by records kolkata is far ahead of other metros when you decide upon women going out at night or rather working in night shifts.
as of public opinion i wonder if it gives he right info on the forum where you have b'lores in large.one should use public mode which is more or less accesible/acceptable equally in all regions.i hope i have made myself clear.
no criticizime, right! |

Not so really. It may be better thatn other Metro cities but Auto people are proving to be dangerous nowadays. I am commenting on this because , my friend whco is a female had a bitter experience with a Autorickshaw driver who tried to take her in a different route and after her serious shouts dropped her in the destination . The same incident occured for one of my another friend . So there should be a check on these Auto Rickshaw people |

Totally INDIA is safe for women.
It depends upon how you behave in public and how decent is your dress.
Don't go to lonely places and don't roam late in night. |
