neither, try kerala... oh and excuse me... chennai is a lot more than idli sambar... i think our biggest problem is that we are prejudiced against people in ur own country. thats why we dont progress |

of course mumbai
mumbai is a very good place to spend time, you can visit places like gteway of india(boating), sight seeing, marine drive, gardens like hanging garden, juhu beach, malls shopping at linking rd,fashion street and many more....
youcould also visit to places like matheran (hill station) just 3 hrs from mumbai and also lonavala a hill station around 5 hrs from mumbai and mahableshwar around 11 hrs from mumbai .
you can also visit to sanjay gandhi national park and also staying is not any problems there are many hotels like taj , itc maratha sheraton and hilton where you can stay and have fun. mumbai is amazing. |

I am a Mumbai guy but if you really want to have a touching monsoon vacation I guess it would better to go to Chennai. Mumbai is city of rush and it would be only you try to rain drops and the people surrounding you busy in their stuff so not a wholesome enjoyable moment and if you even take sea shore walk or ride it would be a danger as most of sea coast is polluted either by the air pollution of traffic aside or the water it self so get a change man. Mumbai is the best as career but have some change at least in vacation as such. |

if you want to visit india and experience the monsoon season in all its colours then you should not visit any one of the above cities you should either visit kerala or shillong in meghalaya.but if u have to visit eithert one of the cities it is better to visit mumbai at leat it is raining there i am presently living in chennai and there are no rains and the temperature is 40 degrees and the city of chennai literally sucks during the summer and monsoon season it is better to visit chennai during winters. |

Mumbai is definitely much better than Chennai if you want to enjoy the monsoons. You also have options of quick hillside get-aways near Mumbai. |

That depends. Do you want to be near the monsoons or away from them? If you want to be near the monsoons, I suggest Chennai. If you want to be away from them, I suggest Alice Springs, NT. |
