India was under British Rule for many years, thats how cricket gained popularity in India. Its time and money that got cricket popular in India. Soccer is gaining popularity, but its gonna take time.
It could be boring for you, but a lot of people would disagree.
Indians cricketers are highest paid, and been featured on the front cover of Time Magazine. Also, Indian cricketers do a lot of TV commercials, which get them good income and make them popular... and that results in popularity of cricket. Every kid see their hero on TV and want to be like them.
