Do Christians literally pay India's hindus money and food if they convert?

Yes.Indeed .Please read below some incidences published in newspapers.

Jaipur, Feb 19 : Rajasthan government today ordered an inquiry into the allegation that a Christian mission brought 250 children to Kota from outside the state for converting them to Christianity, an official spokesman said here today.
Ordering the inquiry into the case, Social Welfare Minister has rushed a team of four senior officials to Kota to hold a detailed probe, the spokesman said.

The minister ordered the inquiry after receiving reports that local people were protesting against bringing of the children, described as orphans, by a Mission, allegedly promising them Rs 250(US $5) each and food, he said.

The officials of social welfare department would start inquiry into the matter from tomorrow itself despite being a Sunday, he added.

The children were brought to Kota by train this morning by the mission people, the Spokesman said.
The government would take action after receiving report of the team of officials, he said.

Dilawar, in a statement, said the "government would not tolerate any effort of religious conversion by allurement or force and will not hesitate in taking stern action against guilty persons".

Doubting credentials of the mission he alleged that several cases were still pending in various police stations in Kota against the mission including a case of encroaching upon forest land falsely showing it as burial ground.

This is the reality.

Some interesting stuff . Please read below

Phulbani: The stories go like this.

A poor, illiterate Hindu villager falls ill and looks for help at a Christian missionary-run medical facility. He’s offered a spurious, ineffective white substance and asked to take the “medicine” in the name of Lord Jagannath (hindu Deity). It doesn’t work. After days of suffering, the missionary gives the villager an authentic allopathic pill and asks him to take it in the name of Jesus. When it cures him,the impressed and grateful villager is asked to embrace Christianity.

A paper mache or wooden idol of Lord Jagannath, this state’s ubiquitous deity representing the lord of the world, and a bronze cross are both set on fire by missionaries. While Jagannath is reduced to ashes, the cross remains unscathed. The power of Christianity is “proven” before the enthralled would-be converts.

ya but not local christians but yes the churchgyz etc.. and those who get converted are called rice chritians coz they do it in return for food and money... as only those convert who are really going thru a bad phase financially and religion doesn't matter when one is starving badly....this is something that was on a high in the past and thats why you see lots of christians down south in india... they are mostly rice christians..........tk cr

no that is not true - they offer food/shelter etc regardless of conversion. however, the recipients feel obliged to convert. there is nothing wrong if someone is helping the other and the other wants to WILLINGLY convert.

Others convert because in hinduism they are treated as the lowest caste and christianity offers no caste barriers and therefore a better life. hence you have a lot of "dalit" christians

is this Christianity?

so christians buy people to be christians with food and money?

i would starve to death rather than changing my religion

here is an incident i've seen

i have a maternal cousin who is financially broke,
he lives in a cottage in his small farm, his kids live on fruits and berries they gather from the trees nearby, their cloths are in bad condition, (his parents live in atown and are in a good condition, his elder brother is a owner of a pvt. ltd company,

but this guy does not want to accept money frm any one,
in other words, he feels HAPPY to be POOR but INDEPENDANT, rather than getting money for living, by selling his religion.....

what u think?
are such kinda campaigns good or bad?

i strongly oppose such things

christianity is about giving not converting, how can you ask someone to give up their faith, its against gods belief. irregardless that god has no religion {all men are equal in his eyes] the fact that you believe and pray to him in whatever faith, is all that god wants. A bowl of rice/ and change your faith, maybe a hundred years ago, when people who where doing this, where ignorant of other peoples cultures and religions. but not now a days. live and let live. should be all man kinds belief

Yes they always do.

Rocky
Yes, they do. I know people receiving cash and other financial benefits if they accept Christianity. This happens in a very organized and planned manner in the tribal areas of almost every part of India.
It's wrong to say that the tribes are all Hindus. Some tribes in India did not follow Hinduism. They followed some tribal religions.
