dont listen to the negitive of others! i lived with a indian family for 10 months in india and i would go back without even a thought. sure its messy and corrupt but its so western in citys now. the malls and products are better than nz even and girls are acheving a huge statis there. all shoponers spoke english and in school some classes are held in english so the youth are pretty purfact. as for that answer about bad doctors i say the cheeper doctosr are quite bad and could treat jack but go to a upmaket one and there just as good and modern as american ones. go india! its not as bad as u think. people just have seen bad news on t.v and not lived there to c the awesomoness

The different religious groups, subcultures and very ancient history are all great reasons to visit India but I would definitely do some research on dos and don'ts of any country before I visit it.

I love visiting India but for first time visitors it can really be hard to explore without an Indian friend or family to help you see places and guide you. So find a good Indian friend to accompany you when you visit

I grew up in the west so for me there were a few negatives like the public bathrooms weren't clean and the fact that eating road side food would get me sick immediately.
Whenever I saw somebody throwing garbage on the streets/waterways, I wanted to kick them hard for not loving their country enough not to litter...... But I love India and after some major progress it will be an even greater country then it already is. :)

well it really depends on where you visit to be honest.sure its unclean, the streets are filled with rubbish and junk, but still, the corruption in the society that we live in today...our "civilised" society its the thing that I consider to be dirty.being a british indian, whenever i go there, it makes me feel grateful for the luxuries that i have been born into that people take for granted everyday. i went there in november, and being there just took away the essence of the whole "modern" world in which i have been living in. it was just really coming "back to basics" and the simple way of living. i've had my share of bad experiences when i was in india, despite them, i go back and visit! i always go there to visit family, so yeah my parents kinda have forgotten about "exploring" it lol. but i think its something you should definately try. if you want any tips on things you should/shouldnt do while you're there...gimme a buzz lol

oh and Plain S wtf are you talking about?! no clean water? no electricity? no doctors?! honey, there are probably more people being educated in india than there is in the UK. every single town i've been in. every farm i've visited....they've had electricity, they've had HOT water, they've had CLEAN water! have you been to india? have you walked on the streets? have you sat in a rickshaw? no. you probably havent. dont get so caught up about what you seen in the news about india. if you've never been there. you are not allowed to pass judgement on what their streets are like, what their hospital facilities are like (yes they have hospitals!) or what their water is like. have you drank their water? no you probably havent.they have coca cola there. did you know that? no. they have mcdonalds, they have pizza hut, they have KFC, hell i think i even saw a BODY SHOP when i was there. so please. if you've never been there, dont comment on what their towns etc. its not doing you're intelligence any favours.

yes of course. the culture, tradition and beauty differs from place to place. there many place actually beautiful places which have not become the tourist spot for eg: there is a place called kumbakarai in south actually it is a wonderful natural park likewise there are many places that have not been discovered yet

It is too dangerous, dirty and uncivilised.

The best time to have seen India was under British rule.No one was starving or unemployed, the railways and roads were in good repair and the hospitals and hotels were sanitary.

Like most former colonies, they are suffering unrest, hunger, poverty and disease.Perhaps they were all a little hasty wanting independence, some things just arent meant to be.

NO india is not a great country i thinking u don't know about india beacuse india is hell . indian people are un- civilized they have no manners how to eat , sit and talk india is a dirty place in india no facality no elcectricity . in many village no phone , no safe water for drinking , no good hospital here doctor are un educated many doctors are frauds only 5th class pass they don't know anything about medicne and how to treat a ill person so many children and people are die evrey day in street because many people are superstation they not belive in science i say one thing at last india is good under british ruled .
