No. People in India hardly get to see Elephants these days! Elephants are only present in natural reserve areas and zoos. We are a large automotive consumer, and with rising income levels more and more people afford to buy cars and go to work either in cars or through public transport. I think the last time people went to work on elephants were during the prehistoric period of wars. When the persians, afghans and alexander attacked us we had to ride a elephant/horse to fight those monsters away!
