What I know about India is not something small - which can not be explained in a limited paragraph here :

Here are the some of the best things, which interests me, and many like me :)

The best and the oldest civilisation was from India, Indus valley civilisation. So our ancestors were living in a very civilised manner even before the mankind was figuring out what is living.

The culture of the country is best among the world - rather it is THE BEST - none can beat it.

The most peace loving people - have you ever heard of invasion by Hindu kings, though there were people like Pururava, who defeated Alexander the Great?

Contribution to the world of literature is enormous - the Nalanda and Thakshashila were the worlds best and oldest universities - where even people like Maxmuller changed his name to Mokshamula as a result of love he had for this wisdom of India and Indians.

ZERO is the contribution of Indians, who simply said, Poornasya poornamadaya purnamevava shisyate !

Look at the temples, and sculptures of great South India, rich mineral resources of overall India - We are second to none.

Have you ever heard the fact that the Ganges water, even if it istored for years in a closed container, will never get spoiled. It will be as fresh as a daisy ? Tell me, which other countries water resources can boast of this ? This is one of the points which the modern scientists could not figure out till date.

We are some one who taught binary system to the world - have you ever heard any ashtothara containing only 100 names ? no it is 108 or a sahasranama for that matter with 1008. It is based on this system, the world is progressing today, in the name of computers, software, systems et all. Of course, Indians have proved their worth in this area as well.

I would love to write on economic power of this nation - in the same equivocal words as culture - but running out of space i guess. Best said in the year 2020 - India will be the third largest economy in the world - taking over many other countries.

See the rich and famous men of UK, America, Singapore or any other country for that matter - there are most reputed economists, great doctors, biggest industrialists - et alll....

Guess this is enough for time being - may be you will get some more data soon :)

Vande Mataram.

zee curries.. they originate from India. The city Delhi is the capital of India. India is a huge continent flanked between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Oceans. Home to the Taj Mahal, in Agra a symbol of great Love as well as the Ganges river, one of the holy river of the world.
Mother Theresa also comes from Culcutta India.

You should be more specific with your question. Exactly what do you want to know? It has wealth and poverty. It is beautiful and ugly. What stands out the most is that you have to interact with people. You won't feel like you are in a sanitized, technological utopia with standardized procedures everywhere you go. You will feel real and humble. You'll see how happily people live without modern conveniences. You'll see how hard they work. None of it is hidden away inside large warehouses. It's all out in the open.

India

Republic in southern Asia. Its capital is New Delhi, and its largest city is Calcutta.

# India is the second most populous country in the world, after China.
# British control of India began in 1757 and did not end until the dissolution of the British regime, or Raj, in 1947, when India was divided into India and Pakistan.
# Mahatma Gandhi led the movement for Indian independence through passive resistance to British rule. He was killed by a fanatic in 1948.
# The country is marked by conflict between the Hindu and Muslim populations and violence between castes.
# Despite world disapproval, in 1998 India successfully conducted nuclear bomb tests. Pakistan did the same two weeks later
