India is just partially developed...some where extreme poverty and somewhere extreme richness.

It is not yet developed, but it is developing and maybe it will become one of the most powerful countries in the world. Along with China. Of course, there are a lot of parts of India which are already developed, but there is also a lot of poverty too, unfortunately.

as a nation, no, but certain areas are as developed as in the States. i believe it is much harder for a big country like India or China to be developed but easy for a small one like Singapore or Switzerland.

India is one of those countries that goes through cycles... As other countries around the world become dominating powers, so India ebbs and flows...

About 200 years ago it was a power in its own right, then with things like the British Empire and the (unofficial) American Empire, India took a back seat...

It is now due for another resurgence of dominance and development... I think in the next 20-50 years, it will make its mark on the world... WATCH THIS SPACE...

Every country has a region that's very developed. But I believe you need the whole picture. Also, what's the definition of "developed"? Will your country move to a direction that nobody likes?

As Indian i have to say india is a developing country.. Right from my Childhood i am learnig in my books india is a developing country but now i am seeing the develpoment..
when india is becoming a hub for outsourcing many companies are comming to india and providing oppurtinities directly or indirectly...
The next big thing we have to talk is about software where indian companies are flying their flag high in world.
Still I can talk lot about india where we are not a country we are a continent itself with different culture and different people

Yes. India is definitely a developed country in the sense that its people are the greatest people (well for me) ever to inhabit the earth.. I LOVE INDIA!!!
