Do you think India will always have the caste system?

Or do you think this will change in time? The caste system would be seen as discrimination in other countries (in the Western world anyway).

Of course yes.

It is an UNFAIR system what Indian government is having.
When all human are one, this caste system in India will continue till the world exists.because PEOPLE WANT IT and not Govt.

Since caste system has not changed even after many years of independence,I do not think that it will change in future.

It will take atleast two generations, because there is no encouragement from the government in reducing such disctinctions. The reservations for backwards everywhere is
actually contributing to the continuance of people flaunting
their caste.

Yes, India without Cast System is unthinkable, as its been in existence since time immemorial. No, I don't think its going to vanish no matter how hard any would try. Its there in every fabric of our Indian Society, despite the various diversity which bond us together, yet, it's the very identity of being Indian.

I think ,it will take a long time to completely abolish the caste system ( may be 100~200 years) ; but, the people are changing and so as their perspective on such a system .

The "Caste" system helps each Indian to get ahead in life faster.

It's like separate lanes of traffic. It eases traffic flow.

If you're a member of a particular "Caste", you can easily find someone of your "Caste" in any organization in India or even in the USA.

That person, bound to help people of his own "Caste" will favor your job application. Hence getting a job is much easier than the case where everyone is on an equal footing.

The same applies to marriage. My sister found it very easy to find a boy of the same "Caste" well settled in the USA
Lower "Caste" girls could not have applied to the matrimonial advertisement of that groom.

I don't think for a major changes in the next upcoming centuries.Really Next 200 years we all follow the same rule.
Reason Our Govt body is highly interested in cast. They used to divide the people with the name of cast.so that they can assured for number of votes from a bunch of people.Even our forces have cast based troops. When applying for jobs govt follows.incase of social relation we follows.
Cast system is inside the root of this land. And here people don't like changes.
I don't think this system would changes until some major factor plays.(Like environmental factor:People use to help each other in case of war/flood/... etc without asking for cast)

One firm question: Why you want to remove this.
Cast system have their own advantage. We can find people of xyz work. They have tons of knowledge that can help others.
Their years of experience and knowledge could help every person in the society.

See in the most simple words.Try to figure out the bugs and kill them rather then reinvent the wheel.
