Uncle, have you gone nuts. Settling in pune, near Mumbai.
Try out some places that have calm, quite and serene surrounding.
Pune won't help!!!
All Luck :) |

Quite a number of places, nice to settle down, if you have no problems with money! Ootty and Kodaikanal, hill stations in the South, and, Bangalore and Mysore, large towns, all with good weather: Kochi and Kozhikode in Kerala (a bit warm!): Hyderabad (warm in summer!): Pune and Nasik (and a new modern town Lavasa, near Pune!, in about two years time!), --- and, a few good places all over North, (summer a bit warm!), including some good hill stations! All places have hospitals, good support facilities! It is best if you travel around and choose the place suiting your personal 'taste'! Options are many! Good luck! |

I have been asking a similar question "whats the best place to retire" and to date NO ONE has recommended Pune. I know nothing about Pune but doesn't sound like the place to live in retirement. |

I think that I agree a little with "Harsheet R". Settling in Pune is not a such a good idea. Pune is rising, and developing at a crazy rate. It would not be a surprise if it became like Mumbai in the near future.
Like "Harsheet R" said you should find a place that is not as hectic, and and crazy. Find a place like Khandala, Mahabaleshwar, or some other places like that. They are quite, and life there is very slow paced. You find all of the basic needs, and not the daily headaches that you would find in big cities like Pune or Mumbai.
Those places have nice weather, they are not too hot in summer, and are kind of cold in winter is acceptable. It is not cold like it is in Delhi, or Kashmir. Plus the big cities are nearby, and easily reachable.
Hope this helps. |
