What is western culture !!
We are changing.......
The world is changing...........
Started using Mobile and computer is not westernization.
Started chatting on Net and SMS is not westernization.
Started going for pre and post marital affairs are not westernization. It was there in India since Ramayan and Mahabharat days. In fact it was much more open in those days.
Wearing revealing dresses and erotic dances are not westernization. Our earlier culture and art were much more erotic.
Reading pornographic books are not westernization. Some of the sankrit books written thousands years ago was much more pornographic. Translate the Sanskrit mantras into your language - you would not be able to speak them out within family.
Multiple partner sex and relation are not westernisation. Draupodi had five husband. Lord Krishna had 1603 wives and another thousands girlfriend. Radha was his Aunt. Even then we worship him as God.
Now please explain what exactly is WESTERNIZATION !!! |

yes
Our mordern day society that does not follow pure ,tradition, indian culture, yes infact is destroying the culture---how???
here's the answer..#1)
because of our rich traditions our mordern day society often critizes the celebrations, foods, etc and that is how some indians either change their religeon or they do not tell anyone that they are indian THIS IS WHAT IS DESTROYING THE RICH INDIAN CULTURE .
#2)looking at the bollywood i can say ; atleast they call themselves indian , atleast they try to reach the enternaiments feild to the greatest and bring pride to India Example : Aishwarya Rai , Sushmita sen , Larra dutta etc have been claimed with many award like miss world , miss universe , miss asia etc. |

Disagree to most of you...Think Bollywood has played a major role in refining our traditions...Diwali, Holi, weddings,Religious days and how to celebrate them has been made "people aware" of our culture.....It is always the tradition that outshines the Western scenes.....Bollywood is solely responsible for our youth abroad to value our traditions...and they are turning to our roots in their thousands!...Think Positive! |

No - I think it is enhancing it - and balancing it out
Anything in extremes is not good - and it has kinda gone from one extreme to the other!
As in strict on one hand and totally wild on the other!.....but somewhere in the middle is best - for a truly happy life :-) |

Westernization is not destroying Indian culture, but adopting that culture in a wrong way is destroying Indian youth, ofcourse the whole country................
We should go with changing the technology but not in the way to destroy one's culture...
First people should change!!! |

By seeing Bollywood industry.... yes its right... Don't u see one item song and one lip kiss is made compulsory in films and censor board is doing nothing... There are no family movies now.... One cannot sit and watch any movie with family... disgusting!
I think the time will come when there will be no Censor Board... Directors will do whatever they want.... Bollywood is soon going to turn into Hollywood...
Truth is everyone wants to move with the new trend and time. They don't wanna be left over...
It depends on the individuals... How they think....
If they wanna follow their own traditions then no one can stop them but the thing is everyone wants to move with the world.
One should not blame Western culture... its people who are trying to be like that. Culture is always in its own place. People are trying to change it. |
