I love India because I am an Indian.
You enjoy liberty and identity as an Indian.
There is no racial discrimination
( white or black etc.,)

There is a difference between "like" and "love" :)

there are some things that i do not like.. for example bad roads, lack of things like drinking water, electricity etc.. high population.. polution.. poor law enforcement.. the list goes on..

But there are thousands of things that i like :) the culture, the festivals like Diwali, the colourful everything from roads, shops, clothes, Holi! .. i love the weather.. i love the monsoon rains, my family and friends, where i can visit them whenever i want, the respect that is given to elders, family values, the awesome food .. and most importantly the sense of belonging :)

So there are thing i like and don't like but still , no matter what i love my India :) because its my country.. its where my roots are!

You mother may not be beauty contest winner, she may not be the smartest, richest person in the world , but you still love her, don't you? Its just like that!

I love India. I'm not Indian but I've stayed here for 10 years. Shalaka was right to the point with her lists of likes and dislikes. I agree. India can be very hard for foreigners for those reasons.Bad roads, dirty, disease, noise, poor facilities, chillies. These things send me nuts and I stay indoors for days on end to avoid them.
But really, at least ideally, what I like about India must far outweigh my dislikes or I would not have stayed so long.
My list is something like this:
Is there any other place like India? I think not. Incredible.
For me the most important part is the people. They are mostly very good hearted. So close to each other, so loving and friendly, like everyone is your brother and sister.
I like the way religion is the foundation of everything.
I like the mostly vegetarianism. I love the cows in the streets. I love the colours.
Mostly I love the dharma. The religion and philosophy and especially the Tirthas, the holy places.
Where else can you be liberated from the cycle of birth and death in material existence just by bathing in a river?
INDIA is AUSPICIOUS!!
The Vedic scriptures reveal the deepest truths known and unknown. Did you know that India in very ancient times was known as Bharat varsha and it covered the whole earth? Over a long period of time countries were divided and separated.
Did you know that God Himself in His Avatars (incarnations) has (according to the Vedas) appeared at many times and places in Bharat Varsha and all those places are now holy shrines and dhamas.?
Pilgrimage to those places under the guidance of devotees who have realized the scriptures, ends rebirth in this world and gives one the highest kind of love.
What has come from India? Yoga and Ayurveda and the understanding of reincarnation.
India is deep.
It can drive you crazy if you're not focused on a spiritual journey though. So many distractions. Indians are quite renounced and detached materially and they care about their family members and they don't usually divorce.
But they are just getting too attracted to the western ways and trying to follow. They have the best culture. They are simple people. They shouldn't give up their beautiful culture for western 'culture' and materialism.
