Girl,you need to chill.I checked out your profile and you've asked like,over 5 questions about this 3 week trip ur going on.
And don't pay attention to the other answers,most of them have never been to india and so don't know. There are bugs,lizards and flies but they are NOT going to get on your food! Just wear repellant.

And for when other people said that they would not go to india because of the recent terrorist attacks,after 9/11 did people stop coming to America? I don't think so!! And the Mumbai attacks was so minor compared to the Twin Towers.

Mosquitoes, but they won't touch you if you use bug spray. It depends on WHERE in India you are going of course, but take some non-scent bug repellent and you'll be fine. I visited a year ago for the first time. Love it and going back next year!

MOSQUITOES! LOTS OF THEM! Remember to put a net around your bed when you sleep. You might get malaria.

Yes, in a hot , tropical climate everything lives.
The dogs are covered in crabs and cockroaches, those countires don't have vets. Who what's to go to India to look at the bugs on dogs. The cats are flea bags.
There are Geckos, that lizard in the television ad, they cling on any surface and they are good, they eat buds.
Also find Geckos in Africa.
But let that put you off, depends on where in India you will be going.
I would be more concerned about the war in Afghanistan and the keep away from the north, Pakistan, where all the trouble is. THey just had a bomb planted the Taj Mahal Hotel in Bombay, only a few months ago.
Other small newes, Elephants going berserk at festival and people being trampled to death by an elephant, don't know if it is new news or more news about it.
Like over here in this country, car crashes.
They have Macdonalds in India now and high end shopping malls now.

Never mind the bugs and GECKOS, stay away from the terrorists.
