It all depends upon your definition of girlfriend. If you think that all those youngsters walking around in Brigade road are girlfriend/boyfriends then you are wrong. Most of them are just friends. Second if you notice closely, they go in herds. So I stress it, that they are just friends. Love-stung couples just sit somewhere and weave their net of dreams.
Best thing you can do is join some course. No matter what, join a dance class, join a yoga class, join a spoken English class or even martial arts will do. Right now, with the present life style of yours you don't have a girl friend. So change it. Go out of your comfort zone and whenever you meet any girl worth meeting don't use the word "I" in the place of a full stop while talking. Don't talk too psychological or emotional. Talk about the things of common interest. Be natural and be vulnerable. Don't over act and don't be uber macho. Normal girls like to hang out with normal guys. They meet the super heroes only in the dreams, not in real life. In the real life they "expect" to meet a normal guy with strengths and weakness of his own.

Wah ! Even me and all my friends have same question like you.
But one my friend told me that i do not have the guts. Go to some computer classes like DTP or some other course where there lot of good looking girls. You need some kind of lady mentor.
