hey-dont be so confused. Get your local currency - UK pounds. And exchange them for Indian Ruppees in india, wherever you are, be it GOA or delhi. There are banks and local currency exchange agents all over the city willing to do the exchange on the prevalent rates.
But for sure, pakistani ruppess will only have people looking at you ith surprise. Dnt get them if you dont want to be embarassed ! |

First, you need to buy a guidebook to India. I'd suggest the Lonely Planet or the Rough Guide. You don't seem to be aware that Goa is in India, not in Pakistan. No one is born knowing this: it has to be learned. But long before you arrive in Goa, you should know such facts.
A good travel book will have answers to all kinds of such questions, and they'll be more accurate than Yahoo Answers.
In short, get your Indian rupees at the airport when you arrive. |

Pakistani Rupees are a different currency. Ask your bank if you can buy Indian rupees. |

do NOT get pakistani rupees. they are useless in india.
goa has ATM machines. bring your card and it will give you rupees.
there are also banks that exchange money.
bring either travelers's cheques (american express or thomas cook).
or bring american dollars.
or bring your ATM card.
you can get indian rupees at the airport in london. you can also get it at whatever airport you land in in India.
i would wait and get it in India, you'll get much better rates. |

Goa is a state in India. So in Goa uses Indian currency which is INR (Indain Rupees). Indian rupees are different from Pakistani, Nepali, and Sri Lankan Rupees. They are all different.
What I have done in the past in that I wait until I get to India, and while I am exiting the airport, towards the outside (after the baggage, and customs, and etc.) there are Indian banks that offer exchanges. I also have waited till I get out of airport, and I have been to other banks outside in the city and got my money exchanged over there.
But again Goan Currency is INR, as it is a part of India in form of an Indian State. |
