there are a good number of travell companies in india who will cater to your travell needs in india.
now what you should do is chose where you want to go,
south india is huge, you have tamilnadu. andhra pradesh, karnataka and kerela.check out what you want to visit and the purpose. If its just for sight seeing then i suggest - see the fantastic temples and places which have archeological importance like tamilnadu and karnataka
otherwise visit the places which are naturally beautiful like kerela
i suggest a 10 days trip where in you can combine a bit of both these things -visit kerela covering munnar, thekkady, kovalam and kumarakom. then go to madurai , rameshwaram, kanyakumari, chennai, and if still have time go to bangalore, mysore etc.,

now days no need tour companies. u can go ur own. i go any where without any tour companies. collect the details from the websites. many ways to go. dont take the tour travel package. waste. if u go ur own, u can spent time ur own, u can go anywhere. now people are changed they wont distrub u. they will ready to help u. this is my experience.happy journey to u.

South India is very large and diverse in topography, culture and language. You probably want to decide what you want to do based on the time available. If you have about 12 weeks, you could see most everything.

If you decide where all you want to go, you could check makemytrip.com to do your bookings between major cities. You could also do a search for 'hammock holidays india'. they are a trusted travel agency for south india. The other thing to do is to check individual state tourism sites to know what to do in that state
e.g. www.kstdc.gov.in or kstdc.nic.in for Karnataka

u can mail me if u want, i can help u by making arrangements with the govt organisation where they conduct group tours. This govt. company is called TTDC(Tamilnadu Tourism Development Corporation). It also depends on the type of tour u prefer to go around. Give me the places u would like to visit.
