Mysore is the best choice. If you have another couple of days, then add Ooty |

Multiple options (apart from the ones mentioned by other respondents)
1. Pondicherry is 5-6 hours drive away (via Krishnagiri)
2. Yercaud (via Salem), about 4 hours
3. Hogenakkal at TN-Karnataka border, Cauvery falls
4. Mysore (as already responded). Beyond Mysore the following places
a. Ooty
b. Bandipur/Madumalai wildlife sanctuaries (on teh way to Ooty)
c. Coorg - Madikeri, Dubare Elephant Camp is a 1/2 day visit and unique
5. Mangalore & Udupi on East Coast
All these places are in the 300 km range (Mangalore slightly more) |

Hi, you can visit Mysore. Its abt 3 hrs drive from bangalore. Mysore Palace is known the world over as one of the most beautiful palace. Dont forget to buy a ticket and get into the palace to view the golden thron and paintings in gold.16kms from mysore you have Tipu Sultan's fort, palace and burial palace, a must visit. You have to also visit brindavan garden which is again about 16 kms from srirangapatana and 18 kms fro mysore. This entire thing would cut you short by one day. You can plan to visit Nisargadama near coorg the next day. Its abt 2 hrs by bus from Mysore. its a island formed by the river kaveri. on the island they have made a small park kind of thing with dears, elephants... If you are interested in Wildlife, you can plan for either Bandipur National park or Rajiv Gandhi National park. Both are abt 2 hrs drive from Mysore. |

You can also try Chickamagalur, an awesome hill station about 5 Hrs from Bangalore. You can stay in some of the coffee plantations, and with Monsoons hitting soon, it would be a great experience.. |
