Diamonds / jewellery should be purchased at proper reputed jewellers so that chances of cheating are less. Tanishq outlets all over India are guaranteed though they may be on the higher side. You can get your designs made up at Tribhovandas, Mehrasons and other jewellers. Karol Bagh in Delhi is probably the best for Indian trad clothes - especially for marriage trousseaux, and in Mumbai you must visit Silk Museum at Dadar TT. Areas like Santacruz West, Linking Rd, Parle East all have good reputed stores selling traditional clothes at mid to higher end budgets, mostly aimed at the marriage market. http://www.indiahotelreview.com/ is a good site to check on hotels at all budget ranges. You can organise sightseeing tours better after you reach your destination. Look in the local newspaper classified sections, there is no dearth of tour operators, also your hotel will be able to suggest some. An easier way is to rent a car for as many days as you want, all are with driver, Indica AC rents for about Rs1000 for 80km, this way you can go where you want at your convenience and comfort without any parking hassles, and your shopping can be dumped in the car as you purchase it! Check the local paper classifieds for best deals. www.mid-day.com is good for Mumbai classifieds. In Delhi, all hotels have a booklet Delhi Diary for the fortnight, which has classifieds for all these services.

i am from mumbai... its actually the best place to shop... you'll get all diff type of clothes... diamonds i am not very sure but i can give you good shopping joints

1. Bandra Linking Road (good shoes & clothes... its advisable that if you get a good pair of shoes from the road side then you get it fixed by a cobbler just in case) Also bargain a lot in this place... you can reduce the price by atleats 40 - 45%

2. Gandhi Market - there are 2 gandhi markets one in Kind Circle near sion & one in ghatkopar... you'll get good indian wear...

3. Bhuleshwar - this place is a little tricky to reach... but a good whole sale market & you get loads of jewellery

4. zaveri bazar - i think this is the place where you can diamonds i think...i am not sure... but can confirm!

DO NOT go shopping to colaba causeway... all the stuff there is very highly priced! but colaba is a good place to visit...

for hotels you could visit www.yatra.com... www.makemytrip.com.... i think there are good accomodations listed there!

Hi,
Hotels you can find on www.travelguru.com,www.yatra.com. sightseeing in delhi you can call the Delhi tourism office or book on www.tourism-delhi.com.Shopping in delhi for diamonds you can do at mehrasons jewellers at south ex or go to Goldsouk Jewellery mall at Gurgaon. If you can go to Jaipur which is just 30 min by air,4 hours by train you will get the best of the traditional designs in clothes as well as Diamonds and you get to visit a beautiflu city-jewellers like suranas, kothari on MI road will suffice. In delhi you can visit the govt. owned Cottage emporium at CP or delhi Hatt for products from allover India.(artefacts/paintings/clothes)For shawls go to ahujasons at South ex.And if you still want to go the traditional way on clothes visit chandni chowk,Karol bagh. Bargaining is a way in India-you can try.enjoy your visit.

angelguide
Elco Arcade Shopping Center in Bandra West.
Linking Road in Bandra West.
Juhu Beach in Mumbai.
Bhuleshwar in Mumbai.
Thribhavandas Bhimji for diamonds in Jhaveri Bazar.
Villa Parle.
For hotels look on Yatra.com.
Bargaining is a time honored tradition in India, dont be shy or afraid to do it.Offer half the asking price especially with the smaller vendors.
Enjoy your visit.

for diamonds go to TRIBHOVAN BHIMJI in mumbai, there are quite few nice places in Mumbai to buy diamonds.

Go to proper show room so you will get all carat's details of diamonds on your bill.

Dont buy diamonds from small local shops , they could cheat you.

clothes. Ritukumar, Manish malhotra , BENZER they all designer shops in mumbai.
