hi
no. 1: there are parts of India that are poor and parts which are not. I am half indian and I live there and I have also lived in nepal for some time.
The things youve written..no offence sounds a leetle patronising. India is a MASSIVE country and there is a lot of variety...social and economic. there are lots of people who are very poor and live in villages (30% of the population is below the poverty line). However there is a middle and upper class and houses and schools and some malls. we dont live in the forest and hunt and sleep in tress and whate#ver. some people do, but not all.
I'll start with Nepal. The political situation is stable there at the moment. Having stayed in Kathmandu i can tell you that its brilliant for a holiday. food is marvellous. Go to Patan (museum and old houses). Its gr8!!. There is this place thats called Babar Mhal revisited which is uptown and quite expensive but good. The pizza in the RoadHouse Cafe' is BRILLIANT!! Wen (and if) you are in nepal, go to pokhara .PLEASE!! You will never forgive yourself if you dont. iits got lakes and mountains and hills and everything. If you have the cash and time, one trip that we did from pokhara was to go into Mustang which is over the Himalayas. There is a really important temple about three days light trekking away from Jomsom, Which is where you land. It is called Muktinath. The trek is along a very spectacular path. Beware of altitude sickness though it is 4000m high!!
The best time i reckon is October for nepal.
Now for India.. kerala is at the south end of india. its all surf and sand and sun. Goa is really touristy but brlliant beaches. U'll get all the europeany stuff there...it was portuguese until 1962.
must see rajastan...never been there myself but its a must see.
Delhi is quite crowded..its the capital..but you can go from there to agra. The taj mahal is one of the seven wonders ..go see it b4 acid rain RUINS it.Calcutta is good as well.
you will be able to look up the best spots to see in india online im not too sure....
anyway india is vibrant and beautiful.. infact.. bring a friend along. i'll tell you more about good places in nepal ... if you want to know i guess you should mail.
Anyway hope ive convined you a little
Come..you'll enjoy it

One of the largest tourist attractions is the Taj Mahal, if you didn't go and see that, it would be like traveling to London without seeing Big Ben.
It is a tomb built by the king for his deceased wife, out of love and grief, in the shape of her favorite flower, the white rose.
A marvelous structure to behold!
Also, there are several temples in India that capture the imagination. Search for the one that interests you the most as your opionion matters the most for this trip...good luck |

first of all do not beleive that photoes because maybe some of us are poor but they are not poor by heart there are many buildings to visit and if u have to visit all of them u have to take 6-7 months so please do not say this again so start from the capital of india - NEW DELHI there are so many monuments their like the lal kila, many mosques, a famous gurudwara ( a place of worship), many temples, and many famous political buildings and monuments made by mughal emperors in rajasthan, u can see awesome palaces made by the rajputs rulers. in agra, u can see the symbol of love- the taj mahal and not far away from delhi, in amritsar , it is the famous golden temple, a temple made of gold i do not have enough words to describe the greatness of my country and for visiting my country it is just a trailer, there are so many places to see which i cant discuss here the weather in september in delhi and agra is little bit hot with frequent monsoon showers in udaipur, it is hot because it is a desert placeand for your safety i will give u a little examle- chicago and durban are known as the crime capitals of the world this doesnt mean that people dont go their , so do not worry come to my country it is totally safe |

Well India is truly incredible - it has all the climatic zones of the world from cold to dry to all ways wet (Cherapunji/Assam: wettest spot in the world).
People have given you very good tips on what to see -the list of "must sees" as they are known to the usual tourist. But I wanted to tell you of off-beat places, of experiencing something very different. Firstly, in India trek the Char Dham route. It takes you to the lap of majestic Himalayas up to 3,300 feet above mean sea level and to the four most revered Hindu pilgrimage sites - Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri & Jamunotri. Its simply breath taking and spiritually uplifting. In Rajasthan vist Jodhpur, Udaipur and go out to Jaisalmer. Take a camel ride out into the desert. Watch the sun set beyond the sand dunes and spend a night in the open under a starry sky. Visit God's own country -Kerala. Go to Alleppy and take a boat to cruise through the back waters of Kuttanad. It is a land of lush paddy fields and is called the 'Rice Bowl' of Kerela and let nature overtake you.
Welcome to India |

Well I am not sure of the amount of money you have.
But if you are really interested to visit the religious places in India, then you should visit Badri Nath, Vishnodevi, Rishikesh, Prayag, Puri, Dwarka, Kanyakumari. At these place you will be able to get a glimse of the different Gods and Goddess and learn the different principals of life.
IF you are interested in Hill Stations then the places to visit are all in the North of India.
Nepal too is a very nice place to visit. When you visit Nepal do visit the Pashupatinath Temple and a village called Pokran. You will get to see the beautiful scenic sights in the world there.
Happy travelling. Have fun and enjoy your trip to India and Nepal. |

Maybe people are poor, but alot of them are kind and seem happy. etc
Also friendly, me thinks :)
So in some ways many have - a higher quality of life, than in realy rich countries.
As it is so big, choose which region to visit carefully. OK |
