Honeymoon Places in India..?? |
I am planning for my honeymoon in February End OR Early March..
I have some options in my mind...
(1) Sikkim - Darjiling - Gangtok
(2) Nainital - Masoori - Corbett - Kausani (Uttaranchal)
(3) Shimla - Kullu - Manali - Dalhousie = (Himachal Pradesh)
Please let me know about all these places and their PROs and CONs..
No.3 will be very much fine as it's a Top most honeymoon place plus there are luxury hotels and cuisines available. One can easily get setteled in Special Honeymoon Tours for these places. Moreover, local travel will be more convenient.
No.1 is a place worth looking for sure but I think there won't be some deluxe hotels(worth for honeymoon) and it's a remote place as well.
As per the hotel luxuries, I would go No.3 then No.2 then No.1.
BCoz in Shimla, Many hotels have special honeymoon suites.
This is what I think about these places.
Please post your views about them.
I am looking for SOUTH INDIA also but I think It's not a place to go for a honeymoon....what you all say...??
And for Foreign Places, do let me know about the Mauritius & Egypt.
I've been to FAR East. So It's just out of my list.
Any other suggestion is warmly welcome.
Please do not talk about Rajsthan OR Madhya Pradesh.
Thanks Everyone.
Eagerly waiting for your replies. |

1. Gangtok is a beautiful place. Darjeeling is a bit overrated. But this would be a good option. Also, if you are fond of remote areas, Check out Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh added to this.
2. Umm ... I don't find these places special.
3. Manali is probably the best hill station in North India after Kashmir.
Other places I would suggest would be Andaman (or Lakshyadweep) or Maldives outside India. I would say Maldives is better than Mauritius as Mauritius is too crowded.
Kashmir Valley (Srinagar/Gulmarg/Pahalgham) is my favorite, and it should be pretty safe to go there during Feb.

I would avoid Himachal Pradesh. The rural areas are home to hash farmers, and an ex-pat community of people who have dropped out of their lives to live her in seclusion and do drugs. Tourists are often victimized here, with their passports, money, traveler's checks, etc stolen. Dozens of trekkers have gone missing in the last 10-15 years, and their passports, traveler's checks, etc. have been offered up in black markets. The locals stick together and will not cooperate with law officials, they deny seeing bodies that were found in advanced states of decomposition at the sides of trails, some of the missing travelers, and will not rat on anyone local. They will force you to pay bribes or try to rob you. Bodies have been discovered at the bottoms of gorges, in wooded areas, etc, some still in their sleeping bags if they were hiking. Obviously not everyone there is bad, but it's a very dangerous area and I would avoid it at all costs. |

You seem to care too much about the stay.
I prefer option 1.Gangtok is not crowded as other places you have listed. I would prefer some place which is not crowded.
There's another option which most of the people don't even know. It's Lakshadweep islands. With unparalleled beaches it has some great and romantic honeymoon place.I bet you would find it better than Mauritius. |
