You post is in Travel India section, so I believe you are seeking postal codes for India.
There is a postal code directory for sale in all major post offices and business book stores through out. Alternatively CD are available in market giving a lot of postal related info including such codes.
One such email I recently received from someone says:
Key Features:
# Covers 40,000 locations of India.
# Lists Post Office, Pincode, District, City and State Name of a given location.
# Available in MS Access or MS Excel Format, deliverable in a CD.
The database is priced for Rs 3,500/- inclusive of taxes and delivery charges
You can order the Pin Codes of India Database :
Vipin
Mobile No: +91-9810742578

I understand that limited postal info is avaialbale for as low as Rs. 399/= also. |

usps.com for Internet look up.
or- you can go to your local post office or call them and ask them, just have the city and state you need the postal code for. A specific address complete with city and state would be best if you have that information handy. |

This again proves my firm belief that the Americans do not see or know anything outside the USA.
Anyway don't sepnd a penny for this. You can find the postal codes of India (PIN Code) on the web too. I just used to do a google serach giving the name of the place and add to that the word PIN and most of the times I got it.
But I found just now that there are sites providing the PIN codes by the area for FREE:
http://www.tajonline.com/pin-codes/
http://www.mapsofindia.com/pincode/index.html
http://www.india4u.com/pincode/pincode.asp
Now, isn't this the best answer? |
