Criteria:
- you should be 25 yrs of age or more
- you should have commited atleast 5 rapes and 3 murders , and you are still out of jail because of the contacts or money you have
- you have to be uneducated, if you are educated, please dont reveal that cause it could come in your way
- new ideas, india does not want them, they still think girls should not go to pubs, remember Bangalore incident last month
- you have to have some experience in riots and strikes.

DO you have it in you , if yes you have a chance of becoming a small time MP , if you have tons of all this than you have a chance of becoming a chief minister, but if you dont know how many murders or rapes you have done than you definitely have a chance at beoming the Prime Minister.

It purely depends upon your age, your background, educational qualification and what you have in you (which is not clear from your question). Other skills which could be handy e.g. if you are a good orator, good manager, have knowledge of human physcology, a social worker, inter-personal skills etc. The involvement with politics could be of many different types e.g. join a party, union or a politcial organization and work with them. You could become a social worker and increase the amount of political contacts you have and become and active politician at a later stage.

If you are of teenage and in college, you may join some student unions and start experiencing different colors of politics at young age.
