There are two main railway stations in Chennai. First is Chennai Central, from where all the north and west bound trains trains ply. This station is about 19 kms from Airport. the other is Chennai Egmore, from where all the trains to down south of tamilnadu starts. This is about 16 kms from air port, The distance between chennai central station and Chennai Egmore is about 3 kms.
