The cheapest fare is Sangamithra express, 195 Rupees. Add 20 rupees for other trains for berth reservation charges

I think train would be the cheapest mode of transportation, unless you have to get there soon then flight. |

by train, about a 3 hour journey, maybe 4, quickest is by flight, but by the time you check in, get on plane, wait for flight clearance, train would be better and much cheaper |

the cheapest way of going from chennai to bangalore is of course by train, in the general compartment. it costs only around rs.91 for an adult. there r several trains, both day and night trains from chennai central.i prefer the day trains as the general compartments will be full in the night trains,with no room for standing even. |

Cheapest mode is to take a lift. Just stand on the highway and ask someone for a ride, usually the lorry drivers will ask you to get on with their load (like sand, cement etc). Just jump down and run away when they ask you for money. Or you can try stealing the lorry or other vehicles and drive it for free till you reach Bangalore. |

Train is the cheapest. Several of them everyday, leaves Chennai Central (MAS) from 06:00 am to 17:30 and reaches Bangalore CY JN (SBC) from 10:50 am to 22:30 pm. Train Nos are 2007, 2027, 2607, 2609, 2639, 2657, 6222.
