How can i go to shimla-manali? |
Hi am planing my holiday shimla-manali in 2nd week of january with my wife?.
how can travel Delhi-shimla, shimla-manali,manali-delhi.
i contactes some tour agents but the cost is quite high.please give me the convienient and good way for travel. i heard from delhi-shimla train journey is good. how is the season in january.
Please advise me the reasonable and good hotels in shimla and manali?what is the budget i need for this trip?

Delhi to shimla by volvo bus will be comfortable, or u can travel from Delhi to Kalka or chandigarh by train, next by bus abt 80km because train from kalka to shimla took abt 4-5 hrs but by bus it is 2 hr journey on the other hand train travel from kalka to shimla is very enjoyable. From shimla to manali bus or taxi are options, bus ll b cheap. Again from Manali to delhi deluxe bus service ll b suitable. Hostels in shimla & manali are very cheap to very costly, u can decide as ur pocket allow.
Climate ll be very cold during jan. Rs 15000/ for a week sufficient. For visit to Dalhousie i can arrange u a free halt. thanx |

Go to Kalka, by train, in morning about 6.45 am, from Delhi, enjoy the Toy Train to Simla, stay there during snow and go to Mannali, by a bus, enjoy. All the best, both of you. |

If travelling by train first go to Kalka from Delhi & then take the mountain Train to Shimla. If travelling by Bus, you can get a Volvo Bus from Delhi to Shimla.
From Shimla you can get a Bus to Manali.

Himachal Tourism Development Corporation runs deluxe /semi deluxe buses between Delhi and Manali. See the web site below for details. On the HPTDC site you will also find rates for their different hotels in Manali. If you call them, you can also find out about their packages that include travel and accommodation in Manali.
January should be pretty cold :). You should be able to see a lot of snow if not in Manali then around easily.
