to make it simple lol

In the old day you would NEVER!!! do that its always Hindu-Hindu marriage or Muslims-Muslims marriage

But now a days India is getting use to Hindu-Christan (and maybe not India it self but Indians that live in America or other places are getting use too it) I don't think Hindu-Muslims marriage are more common tho

I dunno abt the northern sides................but as I live in the south.......here interreligious marriages R not tat common.......'cause
1. people R highly orthodox
2. people's belief in their own customs, religion and their God!

But some people do marry people from other religion

Interreligion marriages are definitely getting more and more and more common, which is a good sign for a country that has zillions of sects and sub-sects. That's the only way to unite a nation with so many religions...

Having said that, for the speicific religions that you have mentioned, I would say that Hindu-Christian marriages are many times more common than Hindu-Muslim marriages. Also in Hindu-Muslim marriages, in 80-90% cases, I feel that the girl is the Hindu. Christian-Muslim marriages are the rarest of the lot...

Also inter caste marriages are more common than inter sreligion marriages. Such marriages tend to happen more in the cities than in the villages...

They are very very common. People find it hard to imagine how two people with different backgrounds can live so peacefully. There are ofcourse some hurdles here and there, but nothing that can be resolved with love and patience.

It is a forced situation in society now.

What happened with India is very interesting.

It was a hindu country until Islam came marching through the door and captured hindu women as slaves. Did not marry them. Just for slave trade.

Then they came and started teaching everyone how the caste system is wrong and inequality is unfair behaviour etc.

The system worked until the others came. First was Budhism
then islam and then christianity.

Now it is a matter of just being tolerant. Western society is influencing India like crazy. All the naked modelling shows with almost nothing kind of dresses is being shown, kids having relationships is being shown and the total hindu structure of society is destroyed becaose the others could not stand it. They found it barbaric.

But I find western society barbaric. When I moved to a western country, I was in shock when I learnt my 14 year old daughter could walk out the door at 2 am and the police would do nothing.

I am told Icannot interfere if she decides to have boyfriends and reliationships.

I think that is child abuse. I find western society too liberal and barbaric. It is disgusting to see what kids can do to their parents.

SO now what is happening in India is basically total chaos.

All the old values are gone. Everyoen is into everything kind of garbage and no one knows for sure what is the prominent culture.

Muslims are multiplying, having their own laws and oppressing hindu society. Even now girls are abducted to be converted to islam.

So the christians. Same here. Little orphan kids are being converted to christianity because they have money. And no values are maintained.

Most of the mixed marriages are not out of choice but convenience.

The educated and middle class hindus still maintain their old culture but the poverty due to western society is rampant and what do you think about religion when there are mouths to feed.

The problem is not easy to explain. India has tried to survive
her problems and the west is pretty destructive.

One has to take a magnifying glass and look. But how can you
change that overnight?

Life goes on. Muslims are cruel and christians are cruel. They just cannot accept that someone can be different.

It is a very cruel and sad situation.

No one understand the caste system. Everyone considers it a nasty way of separating groups of people. But it worked.

Why criticise something you know nothing about?

And then to force your values on others? What is that?
